Seasons
Far above the hustle and bustle of Michigan Avenue lies the serene tranquility and decadence that is Seasons. Some of the dishes here are forever on the menu (so as not to disorient the power lunchers), but chef Kevin Hickey has a creative streak driven by the restaurant’s namesake. Adventurous adults will appreciate a filet in oxtail-red-wine sauce and duck breast served with a side of foie gras and hoisin jus. As posh as this place is, it’s also especially accommodating to kids. They get their own breakfast, lunch and dinner menus (Seasons takes on usual standbys), and diners under four eat for free. Our favorite time to eat here is Thursday evenings, when from 5:30pm until close Seasons offers “Dine without Whine,” when parents dine on their own while kids eat in a separate room under the supervision of a sitter who’s got lots of fun tricks up her sleeve. Bliss.
