Average small plate: $7The Gibsons folks go rustic Italian with this cavernous dining room decked out with reclaimed wood and subway tiles, vintage mirrors and mismatched chairs. To ensure authenticity on the plate, they’ve enlisted chef John Coletta, who doesn’t disappoint with housemade salumi like beef bresaola, spicy soppressata and duck prosciutto served with housemade giardiniera and mostarda. The pizza is among the better thin-crust versions in town (your gang will go for the Margherita), and small plates of braised pork-filled ravioli topped with crispy speck and al dente fava beans are impressive. No worries if your kids make a little noise; this place can be so loud it’d be hard to hear even a full-blown tantrum. But chances are the crayons, coloring sheets and all the frenzy to look at around them will be enough to keep them still. Reservations aren't accepted for the outside patio, so if it's a particularly nice night, get there early or be prepared to wait.
