PB&J at Swim Café
(1357 W Chicago Ave, 312-492-8600; $5,$5.45 with banana)

A PB&J made with organic peanut butter and sliced bananas is already an upgraded take on the lunchbox staple. But Swim Café goes one step further: It offers the sandwich on slices of chocolate bread. (Hey, we didn’t say it was healthy.)

Girl & The Fig smoothie at Peeled
(1571 N Sheffield Ave, 312-266-7335; $7.50)

You don’t have to tell your kid that this elixir is made up of figs, dates, hazelnut milk, raw cacao and Madagascar vanilla. Just tell her it’s a PB&J in milkshake form.

PB&J cookie at Floriole
(1220 W Webster Ave, 773-883-1313; $1.75)

The only thing better than a sandwich is a sandwich cookie—especially if it involves two of baker Sandra Holl’s soft, crumbly peanut butter cookies and a filling of the bakery’s housemade, concord grape (or sometimes raspberry) jam.
