Let them eat cake!

Sure, you could run to Jewel and grab a sheet cake that will probably pass muster, but c’mon, it’s your kid’s birthday…don’t you want her to go down in history as the kid with the best cake of the year? We thought so, so we challenged a handful of local bakeries to come up with their best birthday cakes for the Crayola set. And since it’s not our opinion that counts, we took the cakes to the Hyde Park Ronald McDonald House (the children’s charity is currently celebrating its 35th birthday) and let the kids there evaluate each one on looks and flavor. Here’s what they had to say.
