Transit of Venus at the Adler
The planetarium opens its doors free to all residents this evening to celebrate this rare celestial wonder, the last of its kind in our lifetime (see "This many: Transit of Venus," page TK). Mission specialists lead kids on activities in addition to plenty of telescope viewing. In the indoors Universe Theater, you can opt to watch a NASA's live broadcast from atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii. (Entry to the theater will be on a first-come, first-served basis until theater capacity is reached.) The museum will stay open for stargazing and other activities for 90 minutes after sunset.
