We're downloading this: Hipstamatic

We're thankful to live in the era of digital photography. Without it, we'd likely only have shots of our kids with their eyes closed and their mouths open. Still, we do sorta miss the excitement of getting back a roll of film that has that one unexpected, totally random shot that came out so cool while we were tinkering with the lens and the focus. Those days are back, thanks to Hipstamactic, a fun new iPhone app that lets you take photos that have that instamatic, analog camera-feel----shutter clicking sound and all. The standard "equipment" in the base app includes three different "lenses," three types of "film" and two "flashes." Our faves after experimenting on our dog Stella are the quirky Dreampop flash and the retro-cool Ina's 1969 film. Upgrade "Hipstapacks" with more options are available for 99 cents each; photos are automatically saved in your phone's photo library and can easily be uploaded to places like Facebook and Flicker. Easy peasy, and supercool. $1.99 at iTunes.
