BullsKidz Dance Team seeks boys and girls for 2011–12 season

Have a child with a boundless reserve of energy? Would he or she not be fazed in the slightest by performing for crowds of up to 20,000 people? Does this little one learn dance routines or make up his or her own, obsessively practice and enjoy showing off?

It’s almost time for the Chicago Bulls to find its new crop of 20 young movers and shakers, ages 7–14, for the BullsKidz Dance Team, which performs at select home games throughout basketball season in addition to participating in community events. Tryouts are scheduled for October 17 at the UIC Flames Athletic Center (839 W Roosevelt Rd, 312-413-8421, uicflames.com). Registration starts at 6:30pm with the audition beginning at 7pm sharp.

Aspiring BullsKidz need to complete and return an application, with photo attached, by e-mail or postal mail by October 14 (download it here). We’ve given the sign-up process a thorough look-see and nothing’s bizarre or out of the ordinary. There’s no need to prepare a routine in advance but, judging by these clips on YouTube, the competition will probably be pretty stiff.
