Holiday Afternoon Tea at the Peninsula Hotel

We’ll take sipping tea at a fancy hotel on any day of the week. In fact, we had the pleasure of doing just that on two recent occasions, for our story on manners for tweens in the current issue of TOC Kids.
So it’s no surprise that we are head-over-heels smitten with the festive bells and whistles served with cucumber sandwiches around the holidays, from gingerbread scones to cookie decorating (check out our complete round-up of can’t-miss holiday teas right here).
Add this fashionable tea party to our list of events steeping cheer this holiday season: The Peninsula Hotel joins forces with children’s boutique Odile (shopodile.com) on December 10, when two child models show off chic clothes while adults and kiddos sip beverages, nibble sammies and enjoy sweets in the Mag Mile hotel’s lobby. (Note: Odile’s clothes are absolutely darling, but über-pricey. For example: Take this drool-worthy Baroni Huntington Plaid Dress—for $330.)
Seatings for Holiday Afternoon Tea are available at 2:30pm and 4:30pm on December 10 at the Peninsula Hotel (108 E Superior St, 312-337-2888, peninsula.com/chicago). Admission is $42 per adult, with Champagne $50, and $18 per child, with a Peninsula Santa bear $25.
