Today's gnarly conditions might make the concept of summer, let alone summer camps, difficult to fathom. But not even snowmageddon can stop those coveted (and often expensive) spots from filling up, which is why we're excited to share this little tidbit: The Lincoln Park Zoo is offering 12 full-ride scholarships to its popular summer camps. Ten scholarships will be awarded for the one-week Conservation Camp for kids age 4 through fourth grade, while two scholarships are up for grabs for the two-week Zoo Crew camp for older kids in grades 5–8.

Interested parties can apply by visiting www.lpzoo.org/camps and clicking on the camp they are interested in attending. Application requirements include a parental consent form, a letter of recommendation from a non-relative like a teacher or coach and an application in which kids must demonstrate a strong desire to learn about wildlife. Good luck!
